Inspection - Fall Protection
Under Part 9 of the OHS Code, if fall protection is required for workers working at heights, specific criteria must be followed, including the inspection of life-saving PPE.
The code mandates that employers train workers on procedures to assemble, maintain, inspect, use, and disassemble the fall protection system.
Why Fall Protection is Important:
- Prevents Fatalities and Injuries: Falls from heights are one of the leading causes of workplace fatalities and serious injuries. Effective fall protection systems can save lives.
- Ensures Legal Compliance: Adhering to fall protection regulations helps you avoid legal consequences and fines associated with non-compliance.
- Protects Your Workforce: Implementing and maintaining fall protection measures shows your commitment to the safety and well-being of your employees.
- Reduces Liability: Proper fall protection reduces the risk of accidents, which can minimize potential liability and associated costs.
- Promotes a Safety Culture: Regular training and proper use of fall protection systems encourage a proactive approach to workplace safety.
